…from me, to Guinolas, to Guin, to myself again…

João Guerra 1.0

From a classical piano instruction to a rock guitar foundation. The early days of the first compositions, between pen and paper, to the guitar and bass, to the keyboard, into the DAW. Virtual instruments were showing their first steps, and things seemed to happen through some sort of voodoo.

It was a matter of time until trying it out as a power trio member. It was good, until it was finally over.

Guinolas

When modding, we start with a nickname, and the nickname starts to get noticed when the first music arrangements are shared with the community. This was the starting point of Guinolas, a strange alterego of a guy that wanted to try to help others as a voice actor, even if meant for strange creatures.

He got aware of the Beyond Skyrim community, hosted at the now defunct Dark Creations. And there was music being done. Music with a purpose.

Guin

In less than a year, the opportunity to build a fully original soundtrack for a game was brought to the table. At the same time, that would mean to step aside from the previous work, because it would be too much to handle for something that still was a part-time role. The nickname got shorter, while the music was getting longer. As some sort of internal prank, Renod Even-Toned is brought to life.

At full speed on Druid Gameworks LLC, the soundtrack for Witanlore: Dreamtime was born.

Every cycle has its lifetime, and it’s good to know when the time to move on has come. Perhaps too old and lazy to become a full time performer, current technology makes sharing music content easy than it was two decades ago.

This website is born to work as both a portfolio and also as a room to share my music creations.
